Convention Gifts for my Roomies!

Here are the gifts that I made for my roommates at convention.  Didn't they turn out cute?  The label is actually two pieces.  The pink part of the label was designed on My Digital Studio and the brown part of the label is Designer Series Paper adhered to a Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet.  I did have to use a little bit of Tombow Liquid Glue to adhere the sides where the ribbon is.  I filled them with Hershey Kisses!

I hear you asking, "How did you get pink Chantilly Chrochet Trim?"  Well, here is what I did.  In all honesty, this color was a complete accident!  I was wanting brown trim, but so glad that I found a fun way to use up the pink trim!

How to Coffee Dye with Classic Ink Refills

Ingredients:

1 c regular or instant coffee, warm or cold

2 T vinegar

Approx. 20 drops of Early Espress Ink

Directions:

1. Wet your lace thoroughly in water.
2. Dip into the coffee mixture until the lace turns the shade you like.
3. Rinse in cold water to set the color.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 if you want a darker shade.
5. Air dry or place paper towels on your ironing board and iron to dry quicker.

Liquid Glue Holder Convention Gifts

Here are the glue holders that I made for some of my Stampin' Up! buddies at Convention this week!  They all should already have glue, so I put in some snacks for them while they are at convention.

Here is a template that I created for this project.

I designed it in such a way that it is about 1/4" too long at the top.  That way you can shift it around as you need to.  Apply liquid Tombow glue to the Designer Series Paper and wrap it carelfully around Yoplait Yougurt Cup.  Hold it in place while the glue sets.  Trim off the excess with Paper Snips at the top.  You can readjust the pattern if you like, but I just find it easier to have a little extra to work with.

Liquid Glue Holders

My awesome friend, Carn showed me that Yoplait Yougurt containers work wonders for keeping the glue at the correct end of the Tombow Liquid Glue.  I did a presentation at the Ft. Collins Stampin' Up! Regional Conference a little over a year ago and needed to use the liquid glue, but felt that the container needed to be jazzed up a bit.  Here is my original design.

These containers are so cute, they can hold your scissors, paper piercer on any other small tool that you need close by!
